Volunteer Opportunities

WATER SAFETY TRAINER - TEACH STUDENTS WATER SAFETY SKILLS

Most of our volunteers have never taught swimming before.  Our curriculum is simple and easy to teach.  We will give you the training to save lives! Water Safety Trainers guide our participants through our in-water training curriculum. Participants are divided into groups no larger than 10.

WATER BUDDY

Water buddies support instructors by keeping the kids waiting their turns safe and focused. Water buddies engage students and help reinforce skills being worked on individually by the water safety trainer.

COMMITTEE SUPPORT - BE PART OF THE PLANNING

It takes a lot of hard work and passion to drive our success.  We have aquatics, marketing, programs, and operations committees that always need talented individuals.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the minimum age a person can volunteer with your programs?

Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age, and volunteers under 16 must have an adult volunteer with them.

Are groups able to volunteer?

We are always excited to have groups volunteer with us. We require individual volunteer applications to manage waivers and background checks. If you would like to volunteer together, please send an email request to [email protected].

Do I have to have any type of certification to volunteer?

No certifications required! We only ask that you know how to swim, and if you don't, sign up for a program as a participant!

How will I know what to do?

We ask all of our volunteers to watch 8 short training videos which show you our curriculum, then you attend one in-person training day to ask questions and learn more. On each program night there will be a short recap of the night's goals so you don't forget!

How many volunteer hours will be required?

We ask that each of our volunteers complete approximately 3 hours of online training, then 2 hours of in-person training. Each night is a 2.5 hour commitment. We prefer that volunteers sign up for an entire 6 night program, but it is not required.

What should I wear?

Each volunteer will be provided with a t-shirt that identifies you on deck. A swimsuit and shorts are recommended.

How many volunteer hours will be required?

Each shift equals 2.5 hours. You can sign up for 1 or more shifts.

How do I sign up?

Click the Sign Up to Volunteer Button above! Once you sign up, a link to complete a free background check will be provided at checkout. After the background check is confirmed, the shifts you have signed up will be approved, if you do not pass the background check, you will be unable to volunteer. Background check is not required for volunteers under the age of 18.
